Health Auto Export alternative

Alternative to Health Auto Export for Local CSV, JSON, and Mac Analysis

Health Auto Export wins when the job is unattended export to REST, MQTT, Home Assistant, or Grafana. Health Data Export & AI Analyzer wins when you want local CSV or JSON, an iPhone-to-Mac workflow, and an AI-ready file without building that automation stack.

Disclosure: Health Data Export & AI Analyzer is our app, and AppleHealthData.com is our site. Health Auto Export is an independent app from Lybron Sobers / HealthyApps. We are not affiliated with them.

Choose this when

Use caseBetter choiceWhy
Unattended pushes to REST, MQTT, Home Assistant, cloud drives, Calendar, or email Health Auto Export The App Store listing and HealthyApps help center put automatic export to those destinations on Premium. Their site also points Grafana users at an open-source path.
A TCP or MCP server that can be queried over the network Health Auto Export The current App Store description advertises a built-in MCP server. healthyapps.dev advertises a built-in TCP server for direct reads.
Local CSV or JSON without standing up an endpoint Health Data Export The base app creates CSV, JSON, or XML on the iPhone. You share the file yourself.
iPhone export, then analysis on a Mac Health Data Export The US listing’s base app includes Mac analysis: export XML, AirDrop it, and import it. Health Auto Export also syncs to Mac, on its Premium tier.
An AI-ready file for ChatGPT, Claude, or another tool you already use Health Data Export The listing describes a JSON summary you create and attach. It says exporting a file does not connect an AI account or set up an MCP server.

Where we lose

Health Data Export is the wrong pick if your week looks like Home Assistant, MQTT, Grafana, or a REST endpoint that should keep receiving Apple Health data. That is Health Auto Export’s product. Premium there is the tier for background export and sync to their Mac app. Their help center, last updated August 23, 2026, also lists auto-export to REST APIs, iCloud Drive, Google Drive, Dropbox, MQTT, Home Assistant, Calendar, and email.

Two limits, from their own FAQ, belong in the decision. Automations cannot read Apple Health while the iPhone is locked, and iOS chooses when background work actually runs. “Unattended” still means the phone has to be unlocked. The same Apple rule applies to any app that reads Health data, including ours.

A May 4, 2026 App Store release note for our app says REST API and Home Assistant delivery were added. The current listing’s feature summary does not sell the app that way. If REST, MQTT, Home Assistant, or Grafana is the job, stay with Health Auto Export.

Local workflow if you do not want the automation stack

  1. Export CSV or JSON from Health Data Export for a spreadsheet or a script, or export XML when the next stop is the Mac app.
  2. For a file you already exported from Apple’s Health app, convert export.xml in the browser. That converter stays on your device.
  3. On a Mac, import the XML into Health Data AI Analyzer and read the trends there before you send anything out.
  4. If you want an outside model, share the JSON summary or a short slice of the CSV. Leave the full export on the device unless you mean to upload it.

What to try first

Need the file, not another automation?

Health Data Export & AI Analyzer is for local CSV, JSON, and XML, plus Mac analysis. It is our app. If you need unattended REST, MQTT, Home Assistant, or Grafana, buy Health Auto Export instead.
