Troubleshooting
Stuck on something? Find your problem below. Most fixes start with updating the app, because that is where the fix shipped. If your issue is not listed, jump to Still stuck? at the bottom.
The quickest fix for the majority of issues is updating to the latest version — Mac 1.996 and the current iPhone app. Many problems described here were already fixed in a recent update.
My step / distance / sleep numbers don't match the Apple Health app
The Mac app used to count some data differently from the Health app, so totals could look too high or use the wrong units. This was fixed in Mac 1.996, which de-duplicates the overlap between your iPhone and Apple Watch, converts miles to kilometers, and counts time asleep rather than time in bed.
- Update the Mac app to 1.996 or later.
- Re-open your analysis, or re-import your export, so the corrected counting is applied.
- Compare the totals again — they should now line up with the Apple Health app.
History is full of tiny 1 KB entries that show "Not enough data"
Before Mac 1.996, every auto-sync was saved as its own separate entry, so a stream of small increments piled up as tiny rows that each showed "Not enough data" on their own. Mac 1.996 merges these increments into a single Synced Health Data entry and cleans up the old tiny ones when you open History.
- Update the Mac app to 1.996 or later.
- Open the History screen and let it consolidate the small entries into one Synced Health Data entry.
- Want a full history immediately? Run one full export or backfill from the iPhone app.
Analysis stalls around 40%
An analysis that froze near 40% was a bug fixed in Mac 1.995.
- Update the Mac app to 1.995 or later.
- Run the analysis again.
The Mac won't accept my export.zip
The Mac app imports the export.xml file, not the zip archive that the Health app produces.
- Unzip first: double-click
export.zipin Finder to expand it. - In the Mac app, choose the
export.xmlinside the unzipped folder. - The file can be large. Create it with Export All Health Data from the profile tab of the Apple Health app.
Charts say "Not enough data" or look empty
There are two common causes, and they have different fixes.
Minimum coverage
Some charts need a minimum span of data before they can draw:
- Heart rate, HRV, and sleep: about 14 days.
- Steps and distance: about 28 days.
If you have less than that, export or sync a longer range so there is enough history to chart.
The timeframe picker
- Check whether the timeframe picker is pointing at a period with no data.
- Choose All, or use the ‹ › arrow controls, or tap Latest to move to a period that has data.
Export fails or stops partway on iPhone
The July iPhone update made exports much more resilient: a single unavailable data type no longer aborts the whole export, and a sync that begins while the phone is locked now prompts you to unlock and retry.
- Update the iPhone app to the latest version.
- If prompted, unlock your iPhone so a locked-phone sync can continue.
- For very large libraries, keep the app in the foreground for the first full export.
iCloud sync isn't arriving on the Mac
If a sync completed on iPhone but nothing shows up on the Mac, work through this checklist:
- Both devices are signed in with the same Apple ID.
- iCloud Drive is turned on.
- Pro is active.
- Give the first sync a few minutes to propagate.
- Use the refresh control in the Mac app's Sync Hub.
- If a device is signed out, sign back in through System Settings and try again.
AI analysis fails or shows an error
Analysis errors usually come down to provider setup or the network.
- Check your provider: Pro uses the built-in provider, while the free version needs an OpenRouter key entered in Settings.
- Confirm you have a working network connection and try again.
- If it keeps failing, contact support and include the exact error text you see.
Still stuck?
If none of the above solves it, we are happy to help. Visit the support page or email [email protected] directly.
Since 1.995, support emails sent from the app automatically include your app version, so there is no need to look it up. When you write in, describe what you were doing, what happened, and what you expected.
